Clinical experience shaped by neurology, sleep medicine, and the long view of health

Robert H. Price, MD, has practiced neurology and sleep medicine for more than three decades. He earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine, completed his neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital, and pursued fellowship training in sleep medicine at Scripps Clinic.

He founded Central Coast Neurology in San Luis Obispo and has spent his career caring for patients whose health is influenced by the complex relationships among the brain, sleep, movement, metabolism, cardiovascular health, and physical function.

That experience also revealed a limitation of conventional medical care: important questions about long-term risk, health trajectory, function, and performance often require more time and continuity than ordinary clinical visits permit.

Dr. Price created Wavepoint Health to make room for that work.

At Wavepoint, he directs the clinical assessment, interpretation, and planning process. Objective health and performance data are considered within the broader medical context rather than treated as isolated measurements. Testing and emerging technologies are used selectively, when they are likely to improve understanding or guide a meaningful decision.

His approach is scientifically current but deliberately restrained. New discoveries in aging biology, regenerative medicine, diagnostics, and artificial intelligence may expand what medicine can accomplish, but they should not be presented as established before the evidence supports them.

Dr. Price continues to lead Central Coast Neurology. Wavepoint Health is a separate practice designed to complement—not replace—primary care, emergency care, and existing specialty relationships.
